How to Replace the Daito LM Fuse
Replacing a Daito LM micro fuse, often referred to as a FANUC fuse on machine tools, can be trickier than it appears. These fuses are extremely small鈥攐ften smaller than a penny鈥攁nd their tiny, hard-to-read numbers can make identification and replacement challenging.
Typically, LM fuses are mounted on Fanuc circuit boards or power supplies, often located on the power supply unit behind the Fanuc NC (Numerical Control) unit at the front of the machine. The fuses come in either black or clear casings, which is why both variations are commonly shown.
These LM Daito fuses are widely used not only on Fanuc CNC systems but also on Yaskawa and Yasnac controls, among other applications. Their primary purpose is to protect electrical components from damage, making them a critical part of maintaining your equipment鈥檚 safety and functionality.
For LM fuses, you'll notice they are labeled with letters and numbers ranging from 1-99 or A-Z (e.g., LM01-LM99 or LM-1A鈥揕M1Z). These markings are located opposite the prongs. However, please note that these are not the part numbers for the fuse.

The "LM" represents the style of the fuse but does not indicate the specific part number. To locate the correct part number, refer to the rated current (with an "A" next to it), which determines the fuse you need.
For example, a fuse marked LM21 that is a 1 AMP fuse is actually our part number LM10, a fuse marked LM33 that is a 1.6 AMP fuse is part number LM16 or an LM99 which is a 3.2 AMP fuse is part number LM32 etc.
